WET THE TEA
WetTheTea is a multi-instrument act fronted by singer-songwriter and musician Andy Connally.(Vocals, Flute, Whistles, Guitar, Piano, Bouzouki) Along with Andy's tradition Irish influences, Clare ( Fiddle, Cello, Vocals ) and Adam on (Guitar & Mandolin) bring many other musical influences that are all fused to create something a little bit different. With roots, english folk, bluegrass and modern elements thrown into the mix, WetTheTea songs and tune sets are quite unique. Original, self-penned songs make up the majority of the band's material, and Andy takes you through the journey of each of the songs he's written and how they came to be. These words offer an insight into his life experiences, passions, and vulnerabilities with a feeling of familiarity and honesty. We look forward to seeing them at Runcorn Folk Club. T.
Very sad news of the passing of Christine Hanslip who passed away peacefully at home on Monday 23rd July.
Christine along with her husband Roger was a founder member of the Prospect/ Runcorn folk club. A lovely singer and guitarist she often accompanied many club singers with her guitar playing and mainly as a duo with long-time friend Carol Coxon producing beautiful harmonies together. A talented musician also on piano or accordion and very funny writer of some great monologues. One of the loveliest ladies you could ever meet, always with a smile and nothing phased her. She will be sadly missed by lots of people that have had the pleasure of knowing her and there will be a very big hole left on the folk scene that she has graced with her presence for so many years.
